How Useful Are AI Transcripts for Call Quality Teams?
Let’s be honest — listening to every call manually isn’t practical when a contact center is handling hundreds or thousands of conversations.
That’s where AI transcripts can become useful.
Instead of spending hours going through recordings, quality teams can use transcripts to quickly review what was actually said and identify conversations that need a closer look.
For example, transcripts can help teams spot:
- Repeated customer complaints
- Missed information or responses
- Conversation patterns across agents
- Calls that need further review
But there’s an important question:
Can a transcript really replace listening to the call?
Probably not in every situation. Tone, pauses, interruptions, and context can sometimes tell you things that words alone don’t.
So perhaps the better approach is:
AI finds the calls worth reviewing → QA teams listen when context matters.
That could make quality monitoring faster without making it less human.
What’s your experience with AI transcripts? Do they actually make QA easier, or do you still prefer reviewing the full recording?
